UNITROL WARRANTY POLICY
Unitrol SOLUTION, SIMPLICITY, and FIRE’N MODULE
As of January 2003
Unitrol provides a
5-year limited warranty to cover all of the above product lines. The warranty
periods are determined using date control was shipped from Unitrol to the first
customer.
This warranty, except for EXCLUSIONS shown on page 2 of this
document, covers the following items:
DURING YEAR #1:
All parts (exclusive of fuses) that fail due to manufacturing
defects, FOB Northbrook, Illinois.
Necessary labor to repair control that has failed due to
manufacturing defects, FOB Northbrook, Illinois.
DURING YEAR #2:
80% cost of all parts (exclusive of SCR, Circuit Breaker,
fuses, pressure transducer, printer, infrared thermometer, and strain gauge)
that fail due to manufacturing defects, FOB Northbrook, Illinois.
80% cost necessary labor to repair control has failed due to
manufacturing defects, FOB Northbrook, Illinois.
DURING YEAR #3
60% cost of all parts (exclusive of SCR, Circuit Breaker,
fuses, pressure transducer, printer, infrared thermometer, and strain gauge)
that fail due to manufacturing defects, FOB Northbrook, Illinois.
60% cost necessary labor to repair control has failed due to
manufacturing defects, FOB Northbrook, Illinois
DURING YEAR #4
40% cost of all parts (exclusive of SCR, Circuit Breaker,
fuses, pressure transducer, printer, infrared thermometer, and strain gauge)
that fail due to manufacturing defects, FOB Northbrook, Illinois.
40% cost necessary labor to repair control has failed due to
manufacturing defects, FOB Northbrook, Illinois
DURING YEAR #5
20% cost of all parts (exclusive of SCR, Circuit Breaker,
fuses, pressure transducer, printer, infrared thermometer, and strain gauge)
that fail due to manufacturing defects, FOB Northbrook, Illinois.
20% cost necessary labor to repair control has failed due to
manufacturing defects, FOB Northbrook, Illinois
WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS
As of January 2003
Any expense involved with repair of control by other than
Unitrol personnel that has not been authorized, in advance and in writing, by
an officer of Unitrol.
All cost for freight, to and from Unitrol, are excluded
from this warranty.
All field service labor, travel expense, and field living
expense associated with field service, is excluded from this warranty.
No coverage, parts or labor, is offered for components that
have failed on controls not being used as specified in Unitrol
published literature and TECHNICAL SHEETS.
No warranty coverage will be made on controls that are
being used contrary to specifications, that are sized incorrectly compared to
the published Unitrol SIZING CHART, that were mechanically or electronically
altered by customer, or that were physically damaged after shipment from
Unitrol.
Unitrol assumes no liability for damage to other equipment,
or injury to personnel, due to a failure in the Unitrol control.
Unitrol shall not be responsible for any consequential
damages of whatever kind.
Any expense involving alteration or installation of a
Unitrol control where the control was manufactured to the specifications of
the customer, or where a control is altered by the customer prior, during, or
after installation.
NO OTHER UNITROL WARRANTY, WRITTEN OR IMPLIED, COVERS THIS
GROUP OF PRODUCTS UNLESS IN WRITING AND SIGNED BY AN OFFICER OF UNITROL PRIOR TO
SHIPMENT OF PRODUCT.
